A screenshot of a tweet attributed to Shefali Vaidya claiming that she passed off imitation jewellery worth Rs 200 as a gold neckwear set bought from Tanishq at over Rs 1 lakh, is photoshopped. Vaidya has never tweet any such thing.
Ahead of Bihar assembly elections, several pictures and videos are being shared on social media platforms by political parties for their campaigns. One such picture of a street is going was shared by BJP Bihar in one of the posts purportedly showing the streets Muzaffarpur.
BJP leader Suresh Kumar Sharma shared the post on his Facebook and Twitter accounts. The viral post has a screenshot of a photo shared by BJP leader Suresh Sharma from social media, which reads, 'Muzaffarpur Street Light Scheme. The roads of Muzaffarpur are shining A total of 17,554 street lights have been installed in Muzaffarpur. Work is done, work will be done. '
(Suresh Kumar Sharma has now deleted his posts)
Now, it is being claimed that BJP passed off an image of a street from China as Muzaffarpur. A Twitter user named Deepali Bharti shared the "The picture which BJP is referring to Muzaffarpur is actually a street scene in China. In 2018, this picture has been told of the roads of Orissa. Modi should not be considered Biharis stupid. Biharis have seen the world a lot; Even helpless Bihari does not tolerate lies."
A number of other users are making the same claim on Facebook and Twitter.
In our investigation, we found that the image used by BJP leader Suresh Kumar Sharma in his post is not from Muzzafarpur. However, contrary to social media claims, the image of the street is not from China, but from Hyderabad.
With the help of a reverse image search on Google, we found this picture in the news published on 'The News Minute' website. According to the news published on 10 August 2020, the 780-meter long flyover at Bairamalguda Junction was opened for the public.
Four pictures of this flyover have also been shared from Telangana's Urban Development Minister KT Ramarao's official Twitter account in which one photo is viral exactly the same as the image used in BJP's post.
In conclusion, BJP Bihar passed off an image of the RHS flyover of Hyderabad as a street of Muzzafarnagar.
